We were going on vacation after soooo sooo long !!! Ages since we had this opportunity..no exams and no college..Our last vaction was surely 6 years back..And then the education system grapples you..Alternatively with my or bhai's exam..But finally the day has arrived.
We caught an 8AM Mum-Delhi flight. The airport is spectacular with giant white colored conical shaped structures rising from the ceiling and the JET Airways Privilege Lounge was like a palace.. Golden colored granite walls and flooring , and the lounge faced the parking bay. So we saw the magnificent planes parked facing the lounge, as we grabbed the glasses of banana-mango milkshake and cookies. Now why I dont have any pictures of this moment ? Because mom thought that taking pictures over here, will make us look silly !! (argghhh)
The journey to DElhi was sure tiring, with plane rides giving me headaches..I saw the Bandra-Worli sealink under construction, then were informed by the Captain that we are flying over Jaipur, 37000 Kms above land..phew !SAw the Lotus temple of Delhi from the flight , and then was hunting if I could catch a glimpse of the Qutub Minar from air..no luck though..there are so many Minar's in Delhi(sigh)
Back on land in Delhi, we realised that any few minutes passed wihtout AC might actually kill us ! 40~C. The Innova hired , was no help in this heat. But soon after we began our journey. First stop - NOida. So as my parents set out to have punjabi cholle and bhatura, me n bhai opted for Cheeze Burst DOmino's instead , which left him both thanking me for the cheezy delight and yet critizing me for spending so much money on just 1 pizza !!
On our way to night-stay @ Pantnagar/Rudrapur , base of Nainital Hills, we stayed at the most awesomely beautiful guesthouse ever..The owner having turned the whole industrial area into a beautiful garden. WE hvae never seen such big sunflowers and mangoes on 4ft tall sapling. There were fruits, flowers and vegiies too grown there. On the way we had picked up a 10kg large watermelon ,sold at 4Rs/kg. The same thing in Mumbai would cost atleast 500 Rs. This region has the Horticulture Institute where enhanced seeds for flowers and fruits are available. The night ended with uber-delicious food cooked by the care-taker there who also served us cold-drinks, cashews, grapes and the large watermelon , ghee-laden parathans and spicy pickle !!
Some pics from Day :1 :)
